ECA is round pellet structure produced by firing natural clay at temperature of 1200°C. The result is a hard, honeycombed structure of interconnecting voids within the aggregate. The particles formed are rounded in shape and generally range in size from 0-30mm; these are processed to the required grading, depending on the final use. ECA is an extremely light weight, strong and thermally insulating material. Aquaclay F-4-10 should ideally be put in the provided filter medium bags. Aquaclay F-4-10 should be washed under warm, running water before filling the filter. During the first filling of the filter the bacteria need approximately 2-4 weeks to reach about 70% of the filtration performance. After 4-6 weeks nearly 100% of the filtration performance is accomplished. The colonization time can be reduced by using bacterial cultures (bacteria starter). Aqua clay balls are designed as a hydroponic medium. They allow for great root penetration and aeration. UV Water Disinfection Systems UV Water Disinfection Systems are designed in a way that suits diverse industrial environments. UVC-pond clarifiers irradiate the water in a flow-through reactor with UV rays. The UV-C radiation destroys the swimmig algae. The algae agglutinate to large particles and ca be easily removed by means of mechanical filtering. UVC clarifiers modify the tertiary and the quaternary structure of the algae proteins by means of UV-radiation. This means the destructions of the algae which can be removed from the water by pond filters. The water circulates through the two inlets of the UVC-clarifier and in the process all impurities like algae, bacteria or parasites are reduced.
