A floating fountain can act as an aerator for bodies of water such as ponds and lakes. Aerators are devices or systems that introduce air into the water, which helps improve the oxygen levels and circulation within the water body. They are commonly used in ponds and lakes to prevent issues such as algae overgrowth, fish kills, and foul odors caused by low oxygen levels.
A floating fountain can serve as an aerator in the following ways:
Water Movement: The fountain's jets and sprays create movement on the water's surface, promoting the mixing of oxygen from the air with the water. This enhances the exchange of gases, allowing oxygen to dissolve into the water and carbon dioxide to be released.
Air Diffusion: As the water is sprayed into the air, it breaks into droplets, exposing a larger surface area to the air. This increases the contact between water and air, facilitating the transfer of oxygen from the atmosphere into the water.
Circulation: The movement generated by the floating fountain helps in circulating the water in the pond or lake. This prevents the formation of stagnant areas where oxygen depletion can occur.
By maintaining adequate oxygen levels, the floating fountain aerator can support aquatic life, including fish and other organisms that require oxygen for survival. It also helps prevent the buildup of organic matter and the proliferation of harmful algae, contributing to the overall health and balance of the aquatic ecosystem.
It's worth noting that the effectiveness of a floating fountain as an aerator depends on various factors, such as the size of the water body, fountain design, flow rate, and environmental conditions. In some cases, a dedicated pond aerator might be more suitable, especially for larger bodies of water with specific oxygenation requirements.

The CPF-pressure pond filter series is among the latest generation of pond filters, combining in a compact system, a high-performance bio-mechanical filter along with the most modern UV technology. The filter is unremarkably dug in at the edge of the pond. The compact way of construction makes the pond technology almost completely disappear. Any and all connections as well as the whole field of technology are found in the top cover. The pond filter can be dug in without any problems. The pond water can be pumped to higher-located waterfalls and from this point return into the garden pond.
The pressure pond filter ensures a stable, biological balance and improves the water quality. Along with the appropriate pump (not included in the supply; please note the pond pump´s maximum volume capacity), this ensures for clear water, thus creating healthy surroundings for the pond inhabitants.
Operation
Pressure pond filters with integrated UV unit are the combination of biological and mechanical filtration and contribute to the effectiveness by a UV-C pond clarifier. Due to their UV radiation, UVC pond clarifiers alterate the algae proteins´ tertiary and quaternary structure which causes their destruction. The algaes clump, thus forming large parts of particles that can be easily removed from the water circulation by the mechanical pond filtration of the pond filter.
During the bio-mechanical cleaning microorganisms accumulate inside the filter and remove germs and bacteria from the water.
By the way of mechanical filtration, floating particles and dirt remain in the pond filter and do not return into the pond water.
It takes about 4–6 weeks for the filter bacteria to settle sufficiently inside the pond filter. Only then it is reasonable to make use of a UVC-pond clarifier. The so-called initial "starter bacteria" help to reduce the time for a new pond filter to start its operation. For this purpose this kind of bacteria (microorganisms) is grown in laboratories. Bacteria start being active at a temperature of approx. 10–12°C. The pond filter´s temperature should not exceed 40 °C. It is therefore advisable to place the pond filter in the shadow. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
The pressure pond filter disposes of an integrated contamination indicator as well as a mechanical cleaning equipment for filter sponges, thus ensuring a quick and easy cleaning.
It protects your fish against germs. Safe and good for your fish and plants. Provides clear water. It purifies the pond water without the addition of chemicals. It keeps algae, bacteria and mold formation under control. With universal hose connections.
The pond water is pressed with a pump through the housing, where it is channeled past the UV-light sterilizer. By means of UVC-radiation of the PL-lamp, harmful bacteria and germs are destroyed and the algae formation remains under control. The UVC-clarifier provides clear pond water within 14 days. You achieve the best result if you combine the UVC-clarifier with a biological filter.
A special insert in the inner housing (helix) ensures that the water flow moves in a spiral course around the UVC lamp. Consequently, the exposure time to the UV radiation of the water to be clarified is twice increased. If compared with similar devices with reflector technology, this new model is not susceptible to sediments and dirt of the reflector, which reduces significantly the cleaning work.

A whirling psychrometer is a device used to measure the relative humidity of the air. It consists of two thermometers: a dry-bulb thermometer and a wet-bulb thermometer. The dry-bulb thermometer measures the ambient air temperature, while the wet-bulb thermometer measures the temperature of a wetted wick as air passes over it.
Here's how a whirling psychrometer works:
Wet the wick of the wet-bulb thermometer with distilled water.
Attach the dry-bulb and wet-bulb thermometers side by side on a handle or a frame.
Rapidly spin the psychrometer in the air for a few minutes. This spinning motion helps evaporate water from the wetted wick, causing the wet-bulb temperature to drop.
After spinning, observe and record the temperature readings from both thermometers.
The difference between the dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures is used to calculate the relative humidity of the air using a psychrometric chart or equation.
The evaporation of water from the wet-bulb thermometer causes the temperature to decrease, and the rate of evaporation is influenced by the humidity of the surrounding air. The lower the relative humidity, the greater the evaporation and the greater the temperature difference between the dry-bulb and wet-bulb thermometers.
By using the psychrometric chart or equation, the temperature readings from the whirling psychrometer can be used to determine the relative humidity, dew point temperature, and other properties of the air. This information is valuable in various applications, such as weather forecasting, HVAC systems, and industrial processes where humidity control is important.
