The capacity of the pond pump must be matched to the size of the pond filter. Depending on the type of use, the optimal circulation cycle depends on various factors: fish stock, aquatic plants, solar radiation, desired water clarity. Of course, other components of the filter circuit may have to be matched to one another.
The following guidelines apply:
Koi pond / fish pond:
• 1 cycle per 3 hours
• 2 circulations in 1 hour (without plants and with a large number of fish)
Garden pond/plant pond:
Less circulation is necessary for a pond without fish. Here, one circulation per day can be taken as a guide value in order to enrich the pond water with oxygen and keep the water moving.
Cleaning:
